The Journey

Out for life experiences and inspiration

After high school, I left to explore: travelling the United States, trips across Europe and ultimately landed in Australia.

Every day became more of an adventure — backpacking, motorbiking, road trips, sailing, working as chef, freediving and even cowboy in the outback.

Cooking was a constant; my outlet and joy, the way I connected with people.

But what if you could just cook anything you like, anywhere you are?

Fresh meals, anywhere, anytime.

Cook wherever you are, turning ordinary moments into unforgettable memories.

That became JeCheffe:
Built to cook, designed to travel.

From Idea to Sketch

It started on paper, outside the church, on a grass patch, across Flinders Station, Melbourne, having a pork bun sandwich.

Sketches, collages, and notes scribbled wherever I could. Every idea was an experiment, a tiny step toward something bigger. I wanted something versatile, portable but mainly adventure-ready.

The sketch with first proof that this small idea could grow into a tool capable of transforming the way people cook on the go.

CAD & Early Prototypes

Next came CAD designs and rough 3D prints. The first prototype was basic — held together with a toothpick — but finally something real, tangible.

Even in its simplicity, it proved to me that the concept worked. I could see, touch, and feel the possibility. It taught me new insights, revealing strengths and weaknesses I hadn’t anticipated.

Finding a factory

Turning the idea into a real product was harder than I expected. Hundreds of emails. Dozens of rejections. Weeks of waiting. “Full capacity.” “Only in-house.” “No thanks.”

Each setback was frustrating, but it forced to communicate more clearly and persist. Finally, a factory understood the concept and agreed to help.
The first prototype arrived. It looked good at first glance, but it was clear they hadn’t grasped the purpose of the tool. My expectations were high, and holding it in my hands made me realize there was still a long way to go.

Different Factory and Visit

Determined to get it right, we continued to redefine the design, new CAD drawings, different structure, and purpose. Refined handles, nail grips, widths, and lengths through multiple samples.

After five months, I flew to China to see the process and hold the first raw prototype in my hands. Basic and unfinished, yes, but the touch and feel told me I was on the right path.

Hands-On Testing & The Breakthrough

March '25, I received the first four fully functional prototypes and immediately cooked the first meal (with my own product!!)— my goal now was to continuously do tests, find the limits to reveal what worked and what still needed improvement. Every fold, click, and cut confirmed that all the persistence had paid off.

Taking It Everywhere

Since then through continuous testing, I’ve taken JeCheffe everywhere with me — reefs, boats, mountains, vans, hostels, parks and beaches. I’ve pushed it to its limits, tested its durability, repaired it and refined it along the way. Every scratch, dent and stain is a lesson. Each adventure proved its purpose: “Everything you need, anywhere you are.”

Bring your kitchen to your setting, for your freedom, turn ordinary moments into memories, that last.
